Full Time Medical Receptionist

We are searching for a Receptionist to be our Brand Ambassador, to wow our patients with their professionalism and empathy. 

About us:  

We are a group of Ophthalmologists setting up an Ophthalmology practice in the lower north shore, specialising in refractive, corneal and vitreoretinal surgery, as well as general Ophthalmology. We are looking for a Full Time Medical Receptionist to join us.  

We plan to initially employ two Ophthalmologists, an Optometrist, an orthoptist/technician, and administration staff along with this role, who will support our clinicians and patients, in a state of the art modern practice. Our vision is to provide empathetic high quality medical care to our patients, and to build a team that loves working together and enjoys coming to work.  

About you:  

We are seeking a compassionate medical receptionist, who enjoys their role and would like to be part of our team, caring for patient’s vision and eye health. Our ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, and is mature minded, task orientated, and warm and empathetic.  You will work in close collaboration with our Ophthalmologists, Optometrist and Orthoptist, along with our other administration staff. Previous medical practice experience would be advantageous. 


  • Welcoming our patients into the practice in an efficient, friendly and courteous manner  
  • Ability to manage a consulting session including meet and greet, and managing clinical staff calendars, consulting billing, and booking  
  • Utilising medical software to upload referrals and reports  
  • Supporting and assisting the clinicians and fellow administrative staff in a range of administration and ad-hoc tasks. 
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanour, in person verbally and in writing  
  • Experience in managing several inboxes  
  • Managing our Medical Software – Xestro 
  • Performing general administrative duties such as scanning, faxing, mail sorting, filing and follow-up patient inquiries  


  • Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in an admin or reception role (medical viewed favourably)  


  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 am till 4:30 pm
