Our practice consists of a General Physician, an Endocrinologist; and a Sexual Health Physician.

About you

We are seeking a compassionate, empathetic, self-motivated, hardworking and customer service minded Medical Receptionist for a permanent part-time role (this may increase to 4 days per week). This is a pivotal role in our practice. If you are from a GP background, and would like to upskill to Specialists, please apply and tell us why you would like this role.

The successful applicant will be comfortable with the day-to-day requirements of a busy specialist practice and prides themselves in their attention to detail and customer service – and love working with a hardworking collaborative team. If you have experience with start-up medical practices this would be viewed favourably.

Our vision is to in time, introduce Monday evening consulting sessions  to provide flexibility for patients out of business hours. There may be an opportunity to assist us with these sessions, in lieu of some working hours on a Friday.

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Warm and empathetic manner – ready to assist those that require our medical assistance
  • Meet and Greet experience including managing a consulting session
  • Experience with consulting billing
  • Experience using Xestro (or similar medical software programs)
  • IT savviness and able to troubleshoot
  • Excellent communication skills with a positive and friendly manner and can-do attitude
  • Professional appearance and warm demeanour
  • Ability to work independently with initiative and also love being part of a team
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to multi-task in a busy environment
  • Pride themselves on their attention to detail skills – and genuinely want to make a difference in our patient’s lives

Responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming patients into the practice in a warm, inclusive, friendly and courteous manner
  • Assisting with consulting sessions and meet and greet along with our team
  • In box management and managing specialists’ diary
  • Always delivering exceptional customer service – even an empathetic chat on the phone (making someone’s day)
  • Scheduling and managing patient appointments including managing consulting sessions
  • Collecting and entering patient details and administration services (training provided if needed)
  • Answering phone calls and inquiries in a warm, professional and friendly manner
  • Performing general administrative duties such as scanning, faxing, mail sorting, filing and follow-up patient inquiries
  • Patient billing and processing of payments (training provided if needed)
  • Supporting and assisting the Clinicians in a range of administration and ad-hoc

Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday (may increase in time to 4 days)

Hours: 8:30am till 5:30pm
