Medical Websites
Medical Websites for Doctors & Healthcare Professionals
RWS (Rooms with Style) have a wealth of experience building medical websites for Doctors, including Specialists, Surgeons, Allied Health providers and GP practices. We take the time to understand your practice, speciality, demographic and the community you work in. With this understanding we know what patients and referrers want from your website and design it accordingly. Increasingly, your website is the first interaction a patient or referrer has with your practice. It is the first step in the patient journey. We ensure the first experience is a positive one. A successful medical website will present you and your team as competent, caring, and ethical professionals who are trustworthy.
In addition to building a competent and professional profile of you as a practitioner, patients and referrers will also turn to a medical website as the first point of reference for information about your practice. We build medical websites which are active resources, working behind the scenes for your clinic.
A successful website is an effective communication channel for your practice, conveying to patients:
- Location & parking details
- How to make contact
- What to bring to their first appointment
- The requirements of the clinic
- Knowledge around procedures & conditions
Given your website’s role as a communication channel, we ensure it is intuitive to use and simple to navigate so users can find key information quickly.
We balance this functionality with stylish design. Steering away from ‘pre designed templates’, we create unique custom websites based on your branding to help you present professionally your individual profile and grow your practice in a meaningful way.
For the majority of websites, including medical websites, mobile traffic now exceeds desktop. As such, it is imperative your website shines on mobile devices and smaller screens. We build responsive websites which resize and scale to each user’s screen size to ensure a smooth and consistent experience for your patients and referrers.
RWS will work with you to design a logo for your practice that will be prominently displayed on your site. If you have already designed your logo, we can work with your pre-existing branding.

What is hosting and who provides it?
Website hosting is the provision of physical server space for your website. It enables your website to go online. RWS provides premium hosting on rock solid Australian based servers. We also include an SSL certificate with all the sites we host. This adds an extra layer of security to your website (see next FAQ below which explains the role of an SSL certificate) .
RWS offers a range of hosting packages with options to include ongoing maintenance and analytics reports to track your website’s performance.
Why is a SSL certificate important?
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a security measure which generates a secure connection between a client and the website. SSL uses a pair of keys to encrypt data. Visually it displays as a green padlock in the browsers address bar, and the website is served via https:// opposed too http://.
Additionally having an SSL now contributes favourably to your SEO (search engine optimisation).
How do I choose a domain name?
Your domain name is the address users will enter into a browser to find your website. It is worth taking the time to consider options for your domain name as it will become an important feature in your practice identity and ongoing marketing efforts. RWS can assist in workshopping ideas and researching available options to find the most suitable name for your practice.
What is responsive web design?
For most websites, approximately 50% of traffic is via a mobile phone. With this in mind, it is crucial your website presents as professionally on a small screen (e.g. mobile phone) as it does on a larger screen (e.g. desktop).
Responsive web design ensures this is achieved resulting in a site that is stylish and functional from mobile phones to desktops.
To design responsively, the layout of the page needs to have a degree of fluidity to respond to screen size. The design and layout will adjust to screen size to look good, and be functional for users to navigate information. Responsive design also allows us to best meet the needs of specific users. For example, there may be a need to trim the content for mobile users to speed up their experience and load the page with less data over a mobile connection. The RWS website team will discuss this at your website meeting.
How can I ensure my website is found?
Your website findability is enhanced by SEO. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation. By optimising a website’s SEO we can improve your position in search results, and help connect you with users searching for relative information. RWS have an in-house SEO specialist and copywriter who can assist in identifying the key areas of your practice. They will then integrate “key word rich” content to optimise the ability for search engines to find your site. In an ongoing capacity our SEO specialist can help you understand how people are using your website with detailed analytics.
Why does RWS create sites in WordPress?

It also provides doctors and staff the ability to easily edit website content. Furthermore, it is very user friendly. Like many other users we love the program’s flexibility and open-source ethos, making it the perfect professional choice for medical websites.
Will the website belong to me?
Once a website is built for you by RWS you will retain full ownership of the site and all content within.
